Chng Nai Wee

Chng Nai Wee 庄乃维 a practicing artist, graduated with Honours in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1993. He attended the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Western Painting classes, taught by Han Sai Por, and attended Yale University for a year. Nai Wee, a Young Artist Award Winner presented by the National Arts Council, Ministry of Information and the Arts in 1999, has been an active participant in talks and forum such as the Art and Technology, One-North Resource Advisory Panel, The Eye of the Artist, Singapore Art Museum (2001) and Creativity in the Arts, Science and Technology, inaugural National Creativity Seminar, National University of Singapore (2001). Nai Wee received Honorable Mentions in the Philip Morris Asean Art Awards (1994), High Commendation in the UOB Painting of the Year Competition (1998/99), and Dr Tan Tze Chor Art Award (1995). His project, SingaporeArt.org, was awarded Best Online Performance (1999) by Hitwise International.
