Boo Sze Yang

Boo Sze Yang 巫思远 is currently a full-time lecturer in the Fine Art Degree programmes at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He holds a Master of Arts in Fine Art from the Chelsea College of Art and Design, the University of the Arts London, UK. To date, he has held three solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous local and overseas exhibitions including the Third ASEAN Travelling Exhibition (1993), Singapore Art (1997), the Asian International Art Exhibition (Japan 1999 / China 2001 / Korea 2002 / Philippines 2005), Nokia Singapore Art (2001). In 2003, his painting “The Journey to the West” was awarded the Juror’s Choice in the Philip Morris Singapore – ASEAN Art Award. His methodology and belief towards painting is consistent de-idenfication and re-identification. The act of painting itself is performative. In his paintings, the paint builds and destroys simultaneously, concealing as much as it is revealing.
