1963 1st Modern art exhibition, national Library, Singapore.

1964 Modern art Society formally registered. First Modern art Society exhibition, Singapore.

1965 Invited to exhibit at the British Council in kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

1966 Invited to exhibit at the Penang Museum, Malaysia.

1971 Invited by Pa Chui Gallery to exhibit in kuala Lumpur. Dr Teo Teng Tang, Senior Singapore official in Malaysia was the Guest-of-Honour.

1972 the Ministry of Culture and Society of Visual arts, Poland invited the Society to participate in their International art exhibition.

1975 Invited by Pacipuri art Gallery to exhibit in Bangkok, thailand.

1979 the 15th anniversary art exhibition featuring works by artists from Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. established the Modern art Creation award and Contribution to Modern art award. 
Invited to exhibit at the national Museum of History, Taipei, Taiwan.Invited by Contemporary Chinese Painting Society, taipei to exhibit at their annual exhibition.

1980 Invited by taichung Culture Foundation to exhibit at the taichung Culture Centre in taiwan.

1981 opening of the Singapore-taiwan Modern art exhibition at the national Museum art Gallery. 
Invited by koashiong art Society to participate in their annual exhibition.

1982 In an attempt to provide stimulus to broaden the creative horizon of contemporary art in Singapore, the Society organised a study tour to nine provinces in China.

1983 Invited by the Contemporary art Society of taiwan to exhibit in taiwan.

1983 Contemporary art exhibition, national Museum art Gallery.

1983 A study group of 20 artists visited northeast China to gain a better understanding of the Silk Route.

1984 Annual art exhibition, national Museum of Singapore.

1985 Contemporary art exhibition, national Museum of Singapore.

1986 Joint exhibition in taipei, featuring Singapore and taiwan artists.

1987 Contemporary art exhibition, national Museum of Singapore.

1988 exhibition of members’ works at orchard Point Gallery, Singapore.

1989 Invited by the Contemporary art Society of korea to exhibit in South korea.

1990 Invited to participate in the 5th aIae, national Gallery of art, kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Dec 1989 – Feb 1990).

1991 Invited to participate in the 6th aIae, tagawa Museum of art, Japan (18 Feb – 8 Mar 1992).

1992 Invited to participate in the 7th aIae, Merdeka Building, JI, asia afrika, Bandung, Indonesia (14 nov – 30 nov 1992).

1993 Participated in Singapore Contemporary art exhibition in Fukuoka, Japan. New Space: Singapore-Vietnam art exhibition, Fine art Gallery, HCMC, Vietnam. Participated in the 8th aIae at the Fukuoka art Museum, Japan (14 Sep – 26 Sep1993) and the tagawa Museum of art, Japan (29 Sep – 11 oct 1993). Participated in Singapore Contemporary art exhibition, Leal Senado, Macau, on the invitation of the Government of Macau.

1994 Participated in the 9th aIae, national Museum of History, taipei, taiwan (24 Sep – 2 Dec 1994). 
Modern art Society 30th anniversary art exhibition, River walk Galleria exhibition Hall 1, Singapore.

1995 Hosted the 10th aIae at the national Museum of Singapore (4 aug – 31 aug 1995).

1996 Participated in the 11th aIae, Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Philippines (9 nov – 31 Dec 1996).
