Boo holds a Master of Arts in Fine Art from the Chelsea College of Art and Design, the University of the Arts London, UK. He is currently a full-time lecturer in the Fine Art programme at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He held his first solo exhibition in 1996 and participated in numerous local and overseas exhibitions including the Third ASEAN Travelling Exhibition (1993), Singapore Art (1997), the Asian International Art Exhibition (Japan 1999 / China 2001 / Korea 2002 / Philippines 2005), Nokia Singapore Art (2001). In 2003, his painting “The Journey to the West” was awarded the Juror’s Choice in the Philip Morris Singapore – ASEAN Art Award. His works are manifestation of his consistent contemplation on the notion of identity as a “performative” act, where one is engaged in a constant process of identification, de-identification and re-identification.
